What did your kids sleep in when they outgrew the sleep sacks?
My son is not even 8 months old and is already wearing 18-month clothes. He has outgrown those sleep sacks that are like wearable blankets. He thrashes around in his sleep (rolls over, crawls into the corners of the crib, etc), so he won’t stay tucked in under a blanket — what did you do with your kids to keep them warm at night after they couldn’t fit in the sleep sacks anymore? Thanks!

The little footed PJ’s are great and keep them warm. But basically anything that won’t get wrapped around them, and that they seem to be comfortable in, is fine. Hope this helps.
EDIT: To Ryden’s Mama- If you check out the infant section of most stores, they have something called "sleep mits". Some have fasteners and some are just elastic. They keep their little hand toasty, and you can usually find them to fit up to 1yo.
sleepers with footies…?
i go readjust his blanket after he’s fallen asleep with arms out over blanket. that way he can move his hands and flip over and the blanket is still covering him.
I got these really thick fleecy romper like body suits for my daughter, they make them right up to age 7 and they are super warm.
My daughter hated blankets until she was at least 2. Now she needs a blanket to go to sleep.
But I would dress her in thick sleepers with the footies. And Id still give her a blanket. She would kick it off of course but I wanted it to be at least an option for her.
My son is almost 2 and still hates blankets on him in any way! When it’s cold, we put him in the warm fleece sleepers w/ footies. They also make lighter weight cotton ones for little ones that are great for the warmer weather! Target and Walmart have great selections at a good price… and of course, babies r us too!
Good questions! My son is very close to out growing his sleep sacks and I haven’t been able to find one that is bigger. I also put my son in a gown under the sack that has hand flaps to keep his hands/arms warm, so what will keep his hands from freezing if I just put him in the footed pjs? I am looking forward to reading your answers.
They do make sleepsacks that go to 24 months, but usually only babies-r-us (or maybe toys-r-us) carries them. After my son outgrew those I got him some thick fleece pajamas one size larger than he wore. I pull his socks up all the way to his knees and he would wear those to bed, so even if his pant legs rode up the socks would still cover his legs. The other thing I did was get a large fleece blanket and tuck it into the sides of the bed, he would still flip all over the place but the blanket usually stayed on him. Between those two things he usually stays covered up during the night.
They actually make those sleep sacks for up to age 5, so maybe you can still find some much bigger ones that would still work?? Check out the Halo brand
Other than that, I agree with the previous answers of Footed Pajamas. Depending on the weather, I sometimes put a onesie underneath, and I have a collection of cotton and fleece PJs to pick from.
